my sweet daughter, clue (the office version) and shameless self-promotion

Hello Everyone… All 2 of you!
This morning, I woke up at 5:00 AM in the dot with no alarm clock. I used to have to wake up at 4:00 AM every morning when I worked at Starbucks. You learn a thing or two about being productive with little brain activity when you regularly wake up at such an hour.
Apparently, the skills I acquired while working at this coffee shop still exist, because I do not even remember brewing a pot of coffee this morning. But, somehow I had fresh coffee and a side of cornflakes for breakfast. Quite the Perfect Pairing.
I am so excited about Christmas. And, I am quite partial to my own cute Christmas Cards. I look forward to sharing them with friends and family!
This one has been popular with my family.
I love this deer. The colors are much more bright in person!

And, of course, I have other prints.

Let me just say how much I adore my daughter, Violet! She has started talking up a storm! I don’t understand a word she says, but I imagine that she is saying lovely things like “My mommy is the best!” and “My life is sooo good!” and of course “My favorite show is the OFFICE!”
Perhaps I am projecting….. but only slightly….. and speaking of The Office

Do you see what I see? From the moment I saw this on advertised on amazon.com, I have been gleefully contemplating buying this AMAZING game! What could be better than Clue and the Office together?

Oh, such delightful distraction!Who knows whodunit? Could it be Dwight in the Warehouse with the Dundee! Or, perhaps Angela in the Conference room with the George Foreman Grill!

Did I mention that I am slightly obsessed with this show? And that my husband can quote most any episode verbatim?

Christmas will be good this year!
I want to produce more goodies. Sometimes it is tough to do it all…. work full time, raise a baby, feed my hubby, rescue puppies (my husband told me that I have to stop with the puppies, because I accidentally tried to rescue 2 of our neighbors pets…….)
Until tomorrow…..

Etsy Pounce! (And A New Print!)

Okay, so I am kind of obsessed with Etsy Pounce! If you are in the mood to see some awesome handmade goods but don’t know where to start, just click the pounce button, and SNAP! Recently purchased items appear before your eyes! It is quite inspiring to see the quality of work available.

Try it for yourself! Pounce….

Oh, I have another print to share with you! I call it “Drift Away”. It will be available in my etsy shop soon!

(I hope that you like it!)

Here’s a quick picture of my tree. More decor to come. I just haven’t gotten around to finishing it all up, (And yes, that is a print of Albert Einstein on my fireplace).
Have a nice day!

Doggy Vomit, Anyone?

pumpkin waffles!

Oh boy Oh boy! I just made the best pumpkin waffles for dinner! You can find the recipe here. (Epicurious has tons of super great recipes).

I will post it for your viewing pleasure!

yield: Makes 12 (4-inch) waffles
active time: 35 min
total time: 35 min
ingredients
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup well-shaken buttermilk
  • 1 cup canned solid-pack pumpkin
  • 3/4 stick (6 tablespoons) unsalted butter, melted
  • Vegetable oil for brushing waffle iron

  • Accompaniment: warm pure maple syrup

  • Special equipment: a waffle iron (preferably nonstick)

I know that the photos are not much to look at (thank you iphone) but it gives you the idea!

Tonight I am trying to find the motivation to pack for the Thanksgiving holidays. Currently I am snuggled in my Anthropologie comforter watching television on my laptop. You see, I do not have cable, and the 10 inch tv that I do own resides in my closet. It is useful for watching the weather, as long as I hold the bunny ears towards the window and don’t move.

I know I was supposed to post Christmas decor today, but I am too tired to do it after all of the cooking. I will leave you with some cute x-mas decor from around the internet:

What Did I Do Today?

A whole lot of nothing…. and not the good kind of nothing. My little Violet was really sick today, so I had to skip work to take care of her. Boo hoo. She has been super cranky, which means it has been nonstop fun in my home.

I did manage to dye some paper with coffee today to use in some future illustrations!
So I really love apartment therapy. When I need a dose of inspiration, I love to explore the daily posts. Here are some lovely images from AT to finish the day with:

Tomorrow I will post some of the Christmas Decor I have up in my house. I haven’t done a ton, and my living room is a bit bare (just repainted and haven’t put artwork back on the walls).

Later gator.

The Christmas Cards are Up!

Oh what a long dreary day in Arkansas! But, my mind keeps wandering to my recently posted Christmas Cards. I haven’t sold any yet, but have gotten positive feedback! My favorite is this little foxy feller:

It’s a fox who has reindeer antlers and is standing under the mistletoe…. hoping that maybe this year he can find someone to love!

This one has gotten quite a few views too! Pretty little dear with festive antlers. This one comes in red and green too!
For those with a sense of humor (and hopefully not offended by the mixing of holidays), here is a little reindeer whose antlers double as a menorah!
I hope that these little cards sell (they come in sets of 6 cards). Regardless, I am having fun creating these little fellers!
In other news, my chimney is soooo broken that it is going to cost BIG HUGE bucks to fix it. Not exactly how I wanted to spend my savings. Oh well. Everything is going to be fine.
AND
I am wearing an awesome magenta strawberry sweater that makes me look like I am 12, but that’s alright!

Happy Friday!

Melancholy

Oh the mood I am in. Have you ever made a mistake that haunts you all day? I hate human err. To err is human. But, I tend to hold myself to a pretty high standard. Without going into too much detail, my boss might be a wee bit mad at me today for my “human err”.

Blargh.

At least I have a happy yellow scarf and a happy yellow mug to keep my mind at ease!

I really need to post my Christmas Cards on my etsy today if I want any chance of selling them this year! Oh well, If they don’t make it, I can always sell them next year! They are super cute! And I will post some pictures maybe later today?

And, on a final note… it is 60 degrees outside! I wish I could spend the day with my dear hubby and daughter…

Cheerio

Oh deeridoo! Several months have past in my lovely little life. I want to share some silly little doodles I have been doodling while I should be working!

This is Wallace! He is a finicky litter feller who likes to go unnoticed. He is a nervous little boy who drools a lot, and gets car sick, but is a sweet little cuddle monster. Super loyal pup!

Mr. Schroeder, on the other hand, looks a bit scary (a mix of ewok and perhaps cat?). Saying he is slightly dumb would be an understatement. He likes to pee all over the house, eats certain things which we cannot speak of here, and barks like a yeddi. But underneeth this odd exterior, Schroeder just wants to be carried around in one of those odd little doggy purses. Silly Schroeder.

These might turn into prints. Might end up in my daughter’s room. She is crazy about the puppies!

Peace out,

gingiber

Anniversary

I had a wedding anniversary yesterday. 3 years is the paper anniversary (possibly?), so guess what I am getting…

A PRINTER!

At least that is what I have decided so that I can print my own art from home instead of sending it off to iprintfromhome.com.

Oh, and I am thinking of making a new line of prints… but what of? I need inspiration. Soooooo

This is a Gilmore Girls day.
