Flower Power

I ordered two beautiful prints from Amy Marcella! I’ve featured both of them on the blog before, and decided that they would be the perfect addition to the girls’ room!

I am having so much fun working on Violet and baby # 2’s room! I am bringing in more yellows, which equals a cheery room!

Oh, and I finally made those yellow pom-pom curtains! You can see them in these pictures…. I should blog about them some day!

Until tomorrow,

A Checklist & A Pillow

So I was rambling to Nathan about how I have a MILLION things to do but can’t seem to get anything done! That is when my wise (and handsome) husband asked why I hadn’t simply made a checklist of goals, then get through them one by one.

Did I mention he is brilliant? Tonight’s list had 4 items: make chili, hang curtains, sew a pillow, and blog. Check all of these off of the list, because my family is fed, the curtains are up, and I am blogging about said pillow 🙂

I sewed this cute envelop pillow cover, featuring my “Beloved” doodle printed on the front, and a lovely buffalo plaid pattern on the back.

I cannot wait to put this little pillow on Violet’s bed tomorrow! We just put a twin sized bed in her room, and I get to make lots and lots of cute little pillows now 🙂

p.s. In case you are interested, I will be selling these pillow covers in my shop beginning in the fall 😉

Sassy Sally

Hello Sunday! This has been the 1st weekend in weeks that my family hasn’t either been out of town or had overnight guests.

Last weekend my momma came for a visit and baked cookies with Violet. See that Miss Piggy apron? It was mine when I was her age 🙂 See how she is striking that pose? Recently, Violet has been quite the “Sassy Sally”, her words not mine. Case in point? This morning I asked Violet to pick up her toys. She replied that she couldn’t pick up her toys because she was too pretty….. Dear God, it is starting early with this one.

I hope that your weekend was filled with family time and some cool drinks to get a break from this heat!

Wall Inspiration: Frame Cluster

Okay, raise your hand if you are completely inspired by this amazing framed print cluster featured in Southern Living? I first spotted this picture, as well as an amazing spread on the rest of the room’s kitchen over at the blog Sweetie Pie Style, and am in awe of the simple and cohesive color palette, almost effortlessly clustered above this dining nook.

And while we are at it, who doesn’t love the word “nook”?

I am so indecisive about wall decor. So many of my walls are just dying for some print love. I’ve gotta get with the program, sister!

19 Weeks Pregnant

Hello little baby belly! I am a few days behind posting these. Do you like my sassy 19 week pose? Yeah, the serious face doesn’t really fit me all that well, but I thought I would give it a shot 🙂

My sweet little girl has been growing like crazy! At my ultrasound last week, the doctor said that she weighs 11 oz (most babies at her age only weigh 7 oz on average) so look out big baby!

I’ve gained a bit of weight these past 2 weeks, so the total weight gain is 8 pounds now. I LOVE this stage of pregnancy, when i feel healthy, have a happy little bump, and can still fit into some pre-pregnancy clothes 🙂

Violet now talks to my tummy, gives it hugs and kisses, and is putting aside several of her toys and telling me that they are for her baby sister. My goodness, I am so excited to have 2 girls!

Feels Like It Always Belonged

Hello Gorgeous… That’s how I felt when I first spotted this inviting maple desk in a local antique mall yesterday. I fell passionately in love with its warm, aged wooden patina. Is it wrong to have (dare I say) lustful feelings about a piece of furniture?

Only half kidding about the lusting part, but seriously, I feel like this desk was meant for my home 🙂 Favorite features include the wide planked top, the handles on each side, and the little book shelf at the food of the desk. So quaint and lovely!

I cannot wait to finish rearranging the dining room and give you a full tour of the space! I think that this fresh bouquet of farmer’s market flowers compliments my new desk quite nicely 🙂

It makes me wish that I had fresh flowers in the house year round!
