what goes around comes around, and around

If you follow me on twitter, then you probably have noticed that every weekend someone in my family is sick! The illnesses of choice have been bronchitis and conjunctivitis. And this ring around-the-rosie of illnesses has got to stop!

Pictured above are ALL of miss Violet’s toys. We are wiping them down (again) with Clorox disinfectant wipes. We have washed every sheet and every article of clothing.

So moms reading this, please tell me, what can I do to make the sick go away? Violet goes to daycare, so should I simply accept that being sick non-stop is inevitable?

Blargh. It is hard to keep up with all of the runny noses that need to be wiped and pink eye drops that need to be applied. Yet I am hoping that once this winter weather goes away, we will all be as good as new!

This winter has been rough on a lot of families I know. I sure hope things start looking better for you and yours.

I know this isn’t all about the post, but… I laughed out loud when I read that chalkboard!
“Yo dawg, I heard you like chalk on your chalk so you can chalk while you chalk while chalking your chalk.”
    Bwahahaha!

hi – I’m new to your blog, so don’t know how old Violet is. But the best thing we’ve done for our 6 year old is to keep her immune system strong with good nutrition. Whole grain EVERYTHING, as many greens as possible (it’s hard -I’ve resorted to making kale and white chocolate chip cookies), and SALAD really seems to help. Something about the raw greens really keeps the illness away for the whole family. My daughter will eat salad every night IF it has raspberry or blueberry dressing on it. We try to keep sugar consumption low, but I’ll happily use it to get them to eat green stuff. Good luck!

Ana! Haha! You caught that lovely chalkboard message, eh? My brother-in-law scribbled it up there. I should do a post about all of the crazy stuff on my walls!

Anonymous, thanks for the advice! Healthy eating is super important! Violet is eating some fruit as we speak!
