I worked at the Texas State History Museum so, of course, I suggest that as a highlight! 🙂
Don’t forget to stop on the Congress Bridge at dusk to see the bats at flight. It’s such a cool sight!
Amy’s I’ve Cream is great to cool off from the warm heat.
For inexpensive shopping, I love Goodie Two Shoes on S. Congress. I bought lots of shoes & accessories from there!
Really, anything down South Congress (“SoCo”) is worth checking out!
Oh, I’m so jealous!!
Thanks so much for the advice! I will definitely pick up some cupcakes and go to SoCo!
South Congress Cafe for brunch…
Crab Cake Eggs Benedict and Carrot Cake French Toast…seriously good eating!
Tons of great shopping on South Congress…
Goody Two Shoes is great!
If you want to hit a thrift store…
Family Thrift on Oltorf
If you like burgers…
Casino el Camino on 6th Street is a trip on atmosphere alone.
For Crafty Goodness…
The Stitch Lab has amazing fabrics.
I’ve never been to Austin, but would love to go some day! I can’t wait to hear about what you do on your trip!
i was just thinking that you need to go to a store called Maya on South Congress. It’s a really awesome women’s clothing boutique that is actually affordable. I think you would really dig the clothes there.
And you will absolutely love Uncommon Objects, also on SoCo.
There’s my two-cents.
