owlphabet nursery poster

 owl alphabet print (turquoise)
Okay,
I have to admit that I really am in love with this new poster. I know owls are trendy, but nothing makes me smile more than a little owl face. Is it wrong to like your own artwork? Today let’s make an exception…. pretty please? Find it here at my Gingiber Etsy Shop.
This poster is size A3, printed with archival inks on ultra premium presentation matte paper. I am offering 4 different colors. Turquoise, Green, Pink, and Purple. This would be great in both a boy or girl nursery!

introducing the bluebonnet bandit

Did you know that the Texas state flower is the beautiful bluebonnet? Even more, did you know that it is actually illegal to pick one? Crazy, huh?
I have this amazing memory when I was a little girl living in Dallas, Texas of my mother picking me up from school one spring afternoon. We were driving our usual route on the highway when I saw the most beautiful patch of bluebonnets near an underpass. I started begging for a bluebonnet of my own. My sweet mother promptly pulled to the side of the highway, parked the car, and grabbed one bluebonnet just for me. We were breaking all the rules, and we were loving it.
I never felt more devious. I was a bluebonnet bandit.
This print is a homage to that special memory in my life. I hope you like it just as much as I do!
Please note: If for some reason it really is not illegal to pick a bluebonnet in Texas, please do not burst my bubble. Don’t tell me because my entire childhood has been shaped by this memory!

happy π pi (3.14) day

 Happy π Day!
My husband is a mathematician, so every year, March 14th (3.14= π) we try to enjoy a lovely piece of pie! Today we made a yummy Paula Deen Chocolate Chip Pie. It is pretty much a giant chocolate chip cookie with whipped cream. Sooooooooooo good. The recipe can be found here.
I really hope that you partake in this amazingly awesome celebration. When else can you bake in the name of a holiday?  It is almost as fun as national Bundt Cake Day on November 15th.

cupcake alphabet poster

So I did not have time to do a full update, but I was able to list a new poster print this afternoon! Take a look!

The poster image measures 11×17 with a nice boarder for framing!
Also, Miss Violet was a brave little soldier today. Her surgery went really well. Here is a cute picture of her in her hospital gown!
Have a great day!

nervous momma

So Miss Violet (my sweet baby girl) has to have tubes put into both of her ears today. She has been constantly sick with ear infections since we put her in daycare back in September. I have to be at the doctor’s office at 6:30 AM!
She is still sleeping. I am taking a sick day so that I can take care of her after her surgery. However, I do hope that with this day off I am able to get a few things done (like update my Etsy Shop with 2 new prints and 3 new aprons).
Have any of you ever had tubes in your ears? Your children? What should I expect (I am a bit of a nervous momma today).
Have a lovely rainy day!

i’m featured on decor8 etsy take 5 tuesday!

Oh my goodness!
I am having such a lovely week! First I was featured on Etsy’s “The Storque” (see this post) and today I am honored to be one of Decor8’s pick for the weekly feature “Etsy Take 5 Tuesday”! Please bounce over there to take a look!
Thanks for celebrating with me! I am feeling kinda pumped to keep on moving on!
Oh, and I wanted to show you a little plush animal that I made today:
This is a little bit of skunk love. I know he is rough, but he has a bit of charm, no? This is my first real attempt at stuffed animal making. I hope you like him!
Okay, have a great night, lovies!

featured on etsy’s "the storque"

 Hello All!
Quick Update!(slightly unorthodox update, because I am at the office… but I am counting this as one of my legal 10 minute breaks). One of my prints “Oh, Deer” is listed on Etsy’s blog “The Storque” under Etsy Find’s: Undiscovered Territory! Check it out here (it is the first on the “related items” list).
Um, like I am so pumped, it is not even funny.
 That is all for now!

these are a few of my favorite things

Hello!
So after several days without internet, we found out that our router was broken…. My hubby bought a new one, so I am back in business! No internet meant no real blog posts. But I am back, friends. And, I cannot wait to share with you my newly rearranged home (but that will have to wait until tomorrow).
Due to the fact that the last movie I watched was “The Sound of Music”, I wanted to show you a few of my favorite things in my house.

my pretty blue velvet chair with my even prettier pup, Wallace.
My favorite scent for the home, eucalyptus spearmint. One spritz and I feel like the whole house is clean, even if I have a mountain of laundry to climb (please note the witty Sound of Music pun…)
This is a sweet doodle on the walls of my chalkboard dining room. My friend drew it before miss Violet was born (her name was going to be Joss, but that was before the demerol took effect at the hospital).
I love my antique armchair that I reupholstered in Alexander Henry fabric. It was my attempt at having a chair that was reminiscent of the lovely chairs found at Anthropologie.
This picture of of Nathan and I on our wedding day. It is a quick snapshot of us during our first (and only) dance. We romped around the dance floor to Electric Light Orchestra’s “Sweet Talking Woman”. At the very end of the dance, Nathan stepped on my dress and ripped it (only slightly). It was the happiest day.
This is my new little office nook in the dining room. I have a cute little desk in between two large windows (yay natural light!). However, I really need a large piece of art to adorn this wall space. I need some suggestions!
Alright, you have now seen the sweetest parts of my happy little home. I cannot help but look at them and smile.
What makes you the happiest about your home?
